UGC NET/JRF is a national level exam conducted by NTA to certify the eligibility of candidates for the post of ‘Assistant Professor’ or ‘Junior Research Fellowship’. The aspirants must check the exam pattern and UGC NET/JRF syllabus before filling in the application form. UGC NET/JRF exam comprises of two papers – Paper-1 and Paper-2. The mode of both the papers is online.
The UGC NET/JRF exam pattern is set up by NTA and released in the detailed notification of the NET exam. In Paper-1 and Paper-2, a total of 50 questions and 100 questions are asked respectively; each carrying 2 marks. The total duration of the exam is 3 hours. Applicants must check the recommended books to cover the topics mentioned in the syllabus. Also, they must practice previous years papers of the UGC NET/JRF exam. The UGC NET/JRF comprises two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2 which are held consecutively without any break. Candidates are free to devote any amount of time to any paper. However, a total of 3 hours were given to complete both papers.
The Commission has yet to release the notification and the UGC NET/JRF exam dates for June 2021 cycles. The exams are scheduled to be conducted from 1st Week of June 2022.
Each correct answer will award you 2 marks. There will be no negative marking in the exam. The syllabus for Paper 1 and all 81 NET subjects of Paper 2 has been revised in 2019 and for this year no changes are expected to be made in the syllabus.
