CSIR NET/JRF stands for Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test, also known as Joint CSIR NET/JRF. The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test ( CSIR NET/JRF), also known as the CSIR NET/JRF. The exam determines candidates’ eligibility for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and Lectureships (LS)/Assistant Professor positions in Indian universities and colleges. Only candidates who pass the NTA CSIR NET/JRF exam are eligible to work as lecturers in the faculty of Science and Technology.
Unlike the UGC NET, which covers around 82 subjects, the CSIR NET exam is only conducted for five subjects. Technical subjects are included in the CSIR NET/JRF syllabus. CSIR has created the eligibility requirements for the JRF and Assistant Professor/Lectureship. Candidates who intend to take the exam must be familiar with the CSIR NET Eligibility, required qualification, age limit, and the number of attempts.
Candidates must be under the Joint CSIR NET/JRF age limit given in the Council’s notification. The Junior Research Fellowship’s age limit is 28 years for general candidates and 31 years for OBC and ST/ST/PWD candidates. The CSIR has not set an age limit for assistant professors. See the table below for further information on the age limit:
